Christa D. Platt is a Kansas native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at Wichita State University, as well as her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Higher Education Administration at Illinois State University. Dr. Platt’s career spans both academic and student affairs and includes a diverse set of experiences that have positioned her to live out her commitment to being an equity-minded and transformational champion for justice. Her expertise lies in shifting transactional spaces to transformational antiracist spaces through a continual critical examination of language, narratives, policies, and oppressive systems and structures that reproduce inequities. Over the course of her fifteen-year career in higher education, she has gained experiences in university crisis management, retention initiatives, large scale university-wide programming, school-university partnerships, grant writing, curriculum and program development, assessment initiatives, strategic planning, pr
