Quality Indicators of Programs Serving Students with ASD
There has been a significant rise in the number of students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), not only in Illinois but across the country. As a result, educators in all settings increasingly support students with ASD in their classrooms. Because ASD is a disorder with such a broad spectrum, the experiences and needs of students with autism will vary depending on how their autism impacts their learning. With this increase of students with ASD, there is a need to provide appropriate and high-quality educational programs. Research has indicated that high-quality programs for students with ASD share common characteristics or indicators and serve as the foundation for teachers' implementation of evidence-based practices. This webinar will overview quality indicators of autism programs. The information can be used as a self-review of programs and classrooms, guidance to plan, improve, and administer programs for students with ASD.
